Free JISC TechDis web accessibility tool launched
JISC TechDis has launched a new internet browser tool that will make information on the web more accessible. This free application can be installed on a website or downloaded onto an individual PC, with versions for Windows, Mac and Linux, providing significant benefits for everyone using the internet, especially those involved in education or with a disability.
Working with associates at the University of Southamptons School of Electronics and Computer Science, JISC TechDis has created a toolbar that is not only compatible with all the latest available web browsers, but is also available to users as a Lite version that can be accessed with one simple mouse click. The free application, released as a beta version, provides a range of editing and speech tools to enable students and staff within UK universities and colleges to better access information and interact with web pages on the internet.
